Shark populations are declining around the globe. The high demand for shark fins, meat, liver oil has driven numerous shark populations to the brink of extinction.

Sharks play a very important role in maintaining the health of the ecosystem. Sharks are at the top of the food chain and thus regulate the abundance and biodiversity below them.
