The human tongue is considered the most dangerous weapon. A word said at the wrong time for the wrong reason at the wrong place can start a war. And it has happened many a times in the past. History books attest to that.
Being so, it is easy to understand why the tongue is now having a tremendous negative impact on the world´s shark populations.
The tongue is behind the killing 73 million shark per year. Asian´s taste for shark fin soup is costing dear to these fish.
To protect the sharks, the Pew Environment Group has mounted a worldwide campaign to save them. So far there have been some successes. Recently, Palau decided to create a sanctuary for sharks. Then other Pacific nations did the same. And this is really good news indeed!
