Human behaviour is a vast landscape. There are some humans who are quite humane. People full of compassion, sympathy and consideration for their own kind, animals and plants. In many ways, they are ahead of their time.
Also, this planet is plagued with humans who are inhumane in various degrees. On the lowest extreme, you may encounter folks who are selfish assholes, others may be as calm and shrewish as a greedy banker or businessman who always ready to vampirise or parasitise on anyone or anything, all the way up to the highest extreme, where you can find people who are more like volcanoes, upon exploding they get quite violent and cruel. Behaviourly, these could perfectly be thrown into the Plio-Pleistocene australopithecine bag (Fig. 1).
A few of these inhumane human volcanoes can be seen in action on fish farms, mostly gruesome places where live fish are treated like crap (Videos 1-2):
After having watched the above, now comes the big question for you: If you care about animals, the environment and your health, are you going to support this kind of ecologically and economically unsustainable business with your next purchase?

His
Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji's deep concern for the
preservation of our environment has manifested itself in Avadhoota Datta Peetham,
Mysore as Kishkindha Moolika Bonsai Garden, Ashwashala (Horse stables), Goshala
(Cow shelters) and Shuka Vana (rehabilitation centre for birds). SGS Birds.
Commentaries on Video 1:
Here is a saint who visits pet stores and buys birds whose wings have been
cut; birds that are suffering badly with injuries and birds that are famished.
He brings these birds to their new home in the aviary, offers them world class
medical treatment; feeds them with high quality food of their choice and
nurtures them with utmost personal attention and care. No wonder the title
‘Rehabilitation home’ is the apt name for this supreme aviary!!!
If the infrastructure and care of shuka vana can be incorporated into
saving birds and other endangered species globally ... We will have a better earth !
